BMCC associate professors of Astronomy Barry McKernan and K.S. Saavik Ford, have found "a mask"- a metal disk with holes through which light from a bright object is focused on a detector. The mask will be used in the James Webb Space Telescope, launching in 2014, to view objects around supermassive black holes. Photos by Ari Mintz. 9/15/2010.
